The beachfront Villa Palmar Cancun is a five star resort only 15 minutes drive from central Cancun. Rooms come with a kitchenette and a balcony and guests can enjoy buffet breakfast of international food, served on the dining room or the balcony. The hotel offers a range of activities such as diving and snorkelling, and it has an outdoor pool.

For a truly indulgent experience, check in at the Moon Palace Golf Resort and Spa. This tranquil resort offers 7 outdoor swimming pools with jacuzzis and swim up bars, and 13 exquisite restaurants. Every room is kitted out with a Jacuzzi, a stylish marble bathroom and beautiful views from each private balcony. It is situated on Cancun’s beautiful southern shore, and is just a ten minute drive from Cancun airport.

A good value option is the Ocean Turquesa All Suite Resort. An all inclusive hotel, it is a fantastic family option with a relaxed atmosphere and has 7 restaurants and 4 pools.

The Hacienda de Castilla is a great budget choice. It is 5 minutes drive from Playa Blanca Beach, and hotel guests receive great discounts on food and drink at the Forum beach club, which is just 10 minutes away.

The brand new hostel Ka’beh Cancun is a great central option, and the perfect retreat for the weary traveller. It offers all the usual hostel attractions, such as breakfast and wifi, and although guests sleep on blow up beds, for less than a fiver a night, its not a bad deal at all.

Albufeira is one of the area’s most popular resorts and family-friendly facilities can be found in every part of it.  Accommodation in the area ranges from campsites to luxury villas and there are plenty of hotels in the quieter parts of the Old Town.  Albufeira is also a good base from which to explore the region.  Just 2 km outside the town there is the small town of Oura where there are plenty of facilities such as restaurants, beaches and water sports.

The resort of Vilamoura is popular as it offers almost everything that the tourists could want.  There are golf courses and visitors to the resort can take part in excursions to other parts of the region.

The resort is also very self-contained so those who are travelling with young children and who do not want the bother of too much travelling will find everything they need within easy reach.

Portimao is central to a number of popular resorts including Praia da Rocha, Alvor and Praia do Vau.

Praia da Rocha is one of the larger resorts and is popular due to the nightlife but the others are smaller and ideal for those who are looking for a more peaceful holiday.  Families who enjoy an outdoors life will love the opportunities for trekking, fishing and snorkelling.

Lagos is completely different to some of the tourist resorts but there is a beach there.  The town is medieval and visitors will enjoy the historical features of the town as well as the chance to take boat rides along the coast to see some of the secluded coves and caves.

Accommodation in Crete is often very good value for money. Whether you are after a five-star, spa resort, a beach-side guesthouse or a vibrant hostel, Crete will have what you are after.

The larger, tourist hotels are centred on the north side of the island, where most of the large, package deals to Crete will send you.

In Rethymno, ‘Rent Rooms the Sea Front’ have bright and airy rooms at good prices, equipped with Wi-fi, televisions and all a stones throw from the beach. In Hania, Hotel Delfino offers luxury in an elegant seventeenth-century building, in the old part of the town, serving breakfast in a beautiful courtyard with mosaics.

Any of the Caribbean islands are wildly popular among tourists year round, particularly those from United States, Canada, and Great Britain. All-inclusive resorts are everywhere on the islands. Among the most popular Caribbean islands to visit are St. Lucia, Jamaica, Aruba, Montserrat, and Puerto Rico.

These islands are where you will likely find the most all-inclusive options, but there are literally dozens of gorgeous islands to enjoy.
