Blackheath Lodge, Cape Town - A marvellous guesthouse in Cape Town, where you are so well taken care of. The breakfast was superb, the rooms spacy and with high standard, the little garden around the pool was like a little paradise…so peaceful and beautiful…. The whole place was so tastefully decorated and the hosts all the time so caring…We really enjoyed the stay.Thank you! L.Johnson

Le Meridien, Bangkok - Located smack in the middle of Patpong, I wasn’t expecting such a plush hotel as this. Although it’s “themes” are a little pretentious, the overall feel of the place was fantastic. The staff were brilliant. We were there for Songkran, so going out after midday was a treacherous affair, but that’s not the hotels fault. I can imagine any other time it would be perfect for the night market and surrounding night life. My only real grumble was that that the Songkran celebrations could be heard even up on the 17th floor. Didn’t have any trouble sleeping though as the beds were superb. The food in the restaurant was great – you must try the Australian Wagu Beef Salad, it was terrific. S.Peters

Invisa Hotel La Cala, Ibiza - Myself & my sister stayed at the Invisa La Cala for a weeks holiday. It was a great hotel to stay in the staff were really friendly and the food very varied and of excellent quality. The reception and bar area was smaller which made it more intimate but the service there was second to none, it is only a 5 minute walk to the beach and there are plenty of bars and restaurants should you wish to eat or drink outside of the hotel. I have never been to Ibiza or the Invisa La Cala before neither has my sister but we will certainly be going back there again well done to the management & staff of La Cala. T.Jenkins

Hotel Fita, Amsterdam - Clean, friendly, near museums and designer shopping. A bit away from nightly entertainment but that makes for a quiet night’s sleep. The staff speaks excellent English and were very helpful with early check-in, directions, and generally making sure we had everything we needed. Fairly basic rooms but good beds, good water pressure. It is a small facility so no lobby or lounge area but we didn’t need that.L.Giggs

Hotel Villa Magna, Madrid - Nice stylish rooms, front desk very helpful, central location a block from 2 different metro stops and several major squares, quiet, spacious room, decent price for this quality. Would happily come here again.T.Steling

Crowne Plaza, Lille - The hotel is right next to the station and less than 30 minutes after we had got off the Eurostar we had checked in, unpacked, freshened up and were on our way to exploring Lille. The hotel itself was, well pretty typical really. We were upgraded to the 9th floor – maybe I’ve been spoilt in the past, but I didn’t think the room was anything special. It did have great views although I don’t think I’d have paid extra for that floor (although having said that I didn’t see what the ‘normal’ rooms were like). Despite being opposite the station the sound-proofing is fabulous. We didn’t hear a single sound from outside. Bed was v comfortable too.We had a nightcap in the bar on the Friday night. It was pretty dull and lacking in atmosphere. Typical hotel bar really. S.Farfan

El Palace Hotel, Barcelona - El Palace is a genuine 5-star where everything is just right. Except maybe the bar downstairs who has drinks in a very high price range and is deserted for most of the time. Other than that, there isn’t anything bad we could say about the place. My room was clean and nicely decorated, airport pick up worked out well and the service in the hotel is firs class. I recommend this hotel to everyone. R.Rogers

Artemide Hotel, Rome – It’s only two blocks from the train station on the Via Nationale, and within easy walking distance of the major places tourists want to visit in Rome: the Unification Monument, The Coliseum, the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, the Capitoline Museum, the Trevi Fountain, The Spanish Steps, the Via de Corsa, the Pantheon, Plaza Navone. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the hotel is beautiful and elegant, the breakfast in the morning very good. A great place to stay!L.Matthews

Rendezvous Resort, St.Lucia - We have stayed at this hotel many times and will be definately be visiting again. You feel relaxed as soon as you arrive, the staff make you feel as if your one of the family.Everything is done for you and if you need anything the staff will help or get it for you.We stayed in a verandah room which was very clean and comfortable. The food and service is excellent, they have different theme nights in the restaurant and if you prefer, you can book the trystings, which is thier air conditioned restaurant at no extra cost.We played all the games,a great laugh!! and tried archery, also did sailing. If you just want to lie and sunbathe you are left to do so.Castries is not too far,you can really walk it.People who have stayed here complain about the graveyard next door but you can hardly see it unless you walk along the beach.  P.Mclean

Orosol Hotel, Ibiza - We stayed here for a weekend when we went to San Antonio. On arrival the reception was very helpful, and gave us maps and information on the local area, where to eat the best beaches etc and were really very helpful and really nice people. There were 4 of us so we booked the Quad room which we expected to have four beds crammed into a single room. However when we got into the room we were suprised to find a 2 bedroomed room. For the price we paid we were very impressed. The hotel is close enough to the ‘Party’ area to stumble home, but far enough away not be annoyed by the noise. Its very close to the beach, but due to the habour it is worth getting a taxi to one of the beaches further away as these are so much cleaner and nicer. Breakfast is a little basic but that wasn’t an issue for us. I would definatley stay here again. S.Daniels

Burgundy Hotel, Paris - This hotel is highly recommended. The standard of service is exceptional and the staff extremely helpful and professional with none of the Parisian surliness one can sometimes find. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and the bed was fantastic. We ate lunch in the restaurant and it was extremely good food, and in the evening we had a drink at the bar was atmospheric, with lots of candles and a pianist playing in the lobby. The hotel has a lovely ambience. Without doubt the best hotel I’ve stayed in in Paris and certainly one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. I’d love to stay there permanently! T.Stevens

Hotel Garbi Ibiza & Spa, Ibiza - Location, location, location about sums it up. You can walk everywhere in town you need to be. There are clubs, bars, shopping and restaurants within walking distance. I was able to arrange a jeep safari island tour through the front desk that was a fun adventure. The tour picked me up at the hotel and it was an off road adventure in a land rover defender around the island. We stopped at a beach for lunch and to take a dip in the ocean. There are 2 pools at the hotel that provide great people watching and a great way to cool off. The pools were crowded but I was always able to find a lounge chair. There were 2 hotel bars one out by the beach with great views that closed early and another off the lobby. The hotel bars were a great place to have a drink before heading out. The bars have great scenery, ambiance and are reasonably priced! D.Bale

Hotel San Roque, Tenerife - Really gorgeous hotel in lovely Garachico town. Very friendly reception when we arrived and bottle of wine delivered to our room…perfect! We were staying for 6 nights and had booked a duplex but then upgraded to the ‘suite’ in the Tower which was fabulous, including the private terrace and great views. We ate only 1 night at the hotel but it was very good, what we did love was drinks before dinner! the G&T’s were fantastic..Overall we loved the hotel the only downside for us was we went for some winter sun but the location of Garachico, at the bottom of the mountain meant we saw more clouds than sun and it was a little cool.P.Walcott

The House, Barbados - The House was everything my husband and I could have asked for on our honeymoon. I have never met people happier to do their jobs than those working here. Our suite-style room on the second floor was clean, spacious and quiet with a gorgeous view. The champagne breakfast was plentiful, and the tea & snacks served at 4 every day was perfect to hold you over until dinner. We ate at Daphne’s twice (once in the restaurant and once on the beach) and the food was very good, although I would recommend venturing out to some of the less fancy eateries for great local dishes. For those who have never been to Barbados, I would make sure to do at least one excursion to the east coast and check out the fish fry on Friday nights in Oisten. The only downside is that there is not much within walking distance to the hotel, other than a few restaurants – but the taxis are inexpensive so this was not a problem. I also would not recommend The House to those looking for bustling nightlife. While the bar is open 24 hrs, we were often the only people there later at night. L.Merchant

Hotel Claude, Marbella - Hotel Claude was just the tonic we needed. Chic, but cosy, elegant but comfortable and simple but delicious food. We had two rooms (Flammant- a light. airy room “up in the eaves” of the hotel and Savannah- warmly decorated with a nice high ceiling.) The hotel is situated in one of the quaint cobbled streets of the old town less than 5 minutes walk away from Orange Square. Desiree and her staff were wonderful hosts without being intrusive. We appreciated the complimentary soft drinks, tea, coffee and biscuits. We look forward to our next stay here and highly recommend Hotel Claude. The hotel does offer complimentary spa/fitness facilities, they are however on the beach promenade. Great restaurants near by are Casanis – French Bistro (on the same street), Zozoi – International( a 7 minute walk away). N.Spinks

The Westin, Valencia - This is a great hotel for the value and service we got from everyone we interacted with. Checkin process was flawless, were upgraded without asking and received plenty of -really good- recommendations on what to do, where to eat and for specific requests for activities. Rooms are big and confortable (even for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids), the area outside lacks the ‘personality’ you can find on other Spanish cities but you can always take a taxi that for a few euros (less than 10 most of the time) will take you to downtown or to major landmarks. If you are a soccer fan, the stadium is literally around the corner, if you love having food on small restaurants, there are plenty around for really good prices. If the future takes us again to Valencia, we won’t think twice before staying here again. L.Daniels

Hotel Estherea, Amsterdam - Having been on a bike and barge trip prior to our stay at the Hotel Estherea we were delighted with this beautiful little bouttique hotel located off the Singel Canal. The rooms are quite large by European standards and beautifully decorated. The beds are extremely comfortabe. Don’t miss the large and lavish breakfast! The Hotel Estherea exudes old world charm from the gleaming crystal chandeliers to the snowy white table linens. The staff is first rate and very attentive to your needs. We will definitely stay here again! B.Franks

The Setai, Miami - Stayed 4 nights 19- 21 March 2011. Booked thro Amex . Room was a King overlooking inner courtyard.Check-in efficient. staff phenomenal. Beach Club great and poolside restaurant great food and awesome service.Despite it being March break beach club and pool never seemed crowded. Families tended to stay at 1 pool.Personally I did not mind the exhuberant laughter and playfulness of the kids, despite us having left our kids at home.Ate 1 night at The Restaurant, menu great, food tasty and service excellent.Breakfast fantastic and well worth it. Really we have no complaints. Have stayed at Ritz, W Loews and Fontainbleu and will definitely be making The Setai our Miami base from now on.Hotel is perfect to return to after an evening out. W and Fontaineblue nice to visit ,but its great to return to a serene ,peaceful hotel. R.Parker

Vencia Hotel, Mykonos, Greece - We stayed in the Vencia hotel in a Jnr Suite – Seaview room for 4 nights in March 2011 and loved every single second of our stay. Our balcony had a view over the pool and down into Mykonos town. Absolutely spectacular at night time. The room itself was beautiful and looked just like the hotels website pictures. Breakfast was included in the rate and was excellent with a large selection of things to choose from – including Greek donuts (yum!) and wonderful yoghurt. The view from the breakfast room was also fantastic, again over looking the pool and Mykonos town. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful with car hire and tour information. This was our first stop out of 5 islands and I really didn’t want to leave this amazing hotel and island. Would love to stay at the Vencia again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to all my friends.I would recommend you pay extra for a room with a view though, as that’s one of the highlights of staying at this hotel. T.Henderson

Sandyport Beach Resort, Bahamas - I had a wonderful time at this resort. The staff was friendly, eager to assist with any and all of our needs, and did so with a smile. The rooms were very clean and beautifully decorated. The small canal that wove through the villas was breath-taking to admire. The gorgeous path and walkways with small bridges provided a picturesque setting. Short walk or drive to many fine restaurants, markets, and beautiful beaches. the staff strived to make our stay as relaxing as possible. I would most definitely stay here again, and would recommend this gorgeous resort to anyone who wishes a wonderful vacation in the Bahamas.P.Bradley

Hotel Lucrezia, Sardinia - We stayed here after some advice from friends and were definitely NOT disappointed. After driving past the hotel a couple of times, when we finally walked through the tiny litte gate; the tranquil serenity of the courtyard made us instantly forget the last half hour of shouting at each other. The town of Oristano is not attractive in anyway, making walking into the hotel even more oasis-like.Our bedroom was full of beautiful dark antique wood with a bed that you had to jump up to get into and a large ensuite with shower. The common areas were full of old Sardinian charm. The staff were very friendly in advising us where to explore and eat and nothing was too much trouble. C.Peterson

Athena Royal Beach Hotel, Paphos, Cyprus - From start to finish the management and staff were exemplary. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The main restaurant is indeed self service, but this adds to the delightful informality whilst enjoying a wide variety of good food. They are enthusiastic about whisking your plates away however if you can overlook this the plus side is that you have an uncluttered table. To make the best of your stay , then a room with a full sea view is entirely preferable, however the standard, facilities and cleanliness of all rooms are high.Although within convenient walking distance of the bustling old harbour, the hotel is situated in a peaceful and spacious location. The gardens and pools are well tendered and the sun beds are plentiful and well spaced for privacy. There is an extremely good and efficient bus service with stops almost directly outside the hotel.Yes, we can all nit pick, but seriously, this hotel and all its management and staff, go to great lengths to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible.  P.Dawson

Hotel Costas Golden Beach, Corfu - We had a great stay here. The family who run it are superb and because of this the people who stay here are relaxed and friendly. The rooms are fine but not luxurious. The shower rooms are too small but I understand they are being upgraded.I tell you this because it would be disappointing if you came expecting 5* luxury.Where this place excels is in it’s personal attentiveness. You feel as if the patrons care about your happiness. They greet you every time they see you. They go out of their way to please you.The breakfasts are fine if you have the buffet but first class if you have the full English. Loved the lunches but only had a few as we were out walking most mornings and had our lunch en route.Only had a couple of dinners at the hotel as we preferred to get out evenings. Would say they were Ok but not memorable.Lovely pool. No problems getting beds any time of day. Entertainment variable but I enjoyed the disco and peolple remarked that some of the stuff we missed was very good. G.Bale

Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas - I visited Las Vegas with my sister-in-law for a girls get away. The Mandarin Oriental was wonderful! I have never had such excellent service in a hotel before. From room service to the attendants at the pool, everything was top notch! You can tell they are trained on ensuring their clients are well taken care of.This hotel does not have a Casino attached and truth be told we did not miss it one bit, we loved the quietness and the smoke free smell of entering the hotel…. and if you wanted a Casino the Aria is a short walk away! One of the best parts of our stay was the wonderful service we received from the concierge. I must mention and thank Stephanie as she truly went over and above to deliver quality customer service for us to make our trip very special. T.Stevens

Galaxy Hotel Iraklio, Crete - Lovely room, perfectly clean, excellent breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There was a small problem with the shower doors not fitting together and causing a bit of flooding (and we have notified the management), but I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Iraklio. It is a 20-25-minute totally interesting walk down to the Venetian port, and only 5-10 minutes to the Archaeological Museum. Another small difficulty (at least for us…) was following the directions to get there from the airport by car – it is a bit difficult to see the hotel sign behind the trees on Dimokratias Avenue. But overall and in many particulars this hotel is excellent! P.Cole

Hotel Antiche Figure, Venice - We were recently in Venice for two nights and booked the Hotel Antiche Figure based upon its location and the reviews posted here on TA. We were very pleased with our decision.Since we didn’t have a ton of time and we were renting a car when we left, we wanted a centrally located hotel and this one couldn’t have been any better. Located right across the Grand Canal from the train station, we had a 2 minute walk to get there. The person at the front desk was very helpful upon check-in providing us maps and information. The room was quite large and very clean. The bathroom was spotless and large. We had a room overlooking the canal (upon our request) and to be honest, I am not sure I would do that the next time as it was a little noisy at night due to the people walking by. The hotel does offer breakfast for an additional charge, but we did not try it as there are quite a few places nearby in the morning to grab a cornetto and cappuccino. S.Wright

Blue Waters,Antigua - We returned from Blue Waters two weeks ago and would highly recommend this resort. The staff are exceptional – very helpful and friendly. The resort is lovely, we had a great luxury beachside room with fantastic views. The food in all the restaurants, especially the Cove, was first class. We had booked all inclusive and we enjoyed every meal and the constant flow of drinks. The non alcoholic banana and strawberry smoothies from the pool bars were delicious! The beaches are very small but very secluded and quiet – we took our sunloungers down to the waters edge and it was paradise!  P.Walters

Hotel Salvia, Majorca - I stayed in Hotel Salvia for 5 nights in March and could not wish for a better place. The hotel is an amazing building, but at the same feels very private and relaxed. Each room is different and very specious. The locations provides spectacular views and it is a great base for exploring Deia, Valdemossa and Port de Soller, but what truly made the place for me was the hospitality and attention to details. Patrick, Sasha and Vanessa made their guests feel very special. It felt as I was staying with very good friends. Effortless, easy going and extremely caring and very good at adjusting to the needs of their guests. Patrick – the coffee you made before my yoga practice so early in the morning was something I would never forget! Not to mention a fabulous taste in movies – the best film library I have come across! C.Cooke

Catalonia Las Cortes, Madrid - We had a wonderful stay at Catalonia Las Cortes this month. I stayed with my two adult daughters in a superior triple room, and it was pretty much perfect. The room was clean, quiet, and elegantly furnished. The bathroom was beautiful, equipped with both a tub with shower as well as a huge walk-in shower. The staff at the front desk were friendly, helpful, and professional. The location was ideal – near Plaza Santa Ana and a number of good restaurants, and it was just a short walk to the Museum Triangle. The hotel breakfast was too expensive, so we went to the DOCC cafe which was just down the street from the hotel – go out the front door and turn right. The only very slight negative was that using the computer in the lobby requires one Euro coins for a short period of time. At this point most hotels offer free internet, so that was a tad annoying. Nevertheless, this was a great hotel and I would definitely want to stay there again on future trips to Madrid! For a great dinner try Ginger Restaurant on Plaza Santa Ana. Really delicious and very reasonably priced! T. Glitsos

The Lake Resort, Vilamoura, Portugal - Just back from a 3 day stay at this 5 star and i can honestly say it was excellent. we were upgraded free of charge as the hotle was quiet. we were welcomed with a bottle of champagne and strawberries. staff were very professional and very friendly i had read that the breakfast was great that was an understatement stayed in 5 star before but this breakfast out does them all. we had lunch which i read was expensive to eat there. i ordered a chicken baguette it came with salad and fries and was a lovely which cost 10 euro this was not expensive for the quality of food. we used the spa which one treatment with 50 per cent discount, again staff were fantastic. i couldnt find anything wrong with this hotel if i was going again to portugal probally would go in oct as weather was poor however for 99 euro a night this hotel is outstanding.H.Andrews

Gran Duca di York, Milan - Loved this hotel. Very comfortable rooms, simple but clean with great shower and plenty of hot water. We had room 108 which had a great terrace. The breakfast is fabulous, hot and cold, and the Hotel is in the most convenient position to everything worth seeing in Milan. Five minutes walk to the Duomo and all the stylish shops and arcades. Couldn’t have asked for anything better. We loved this city and we loved this hotel, as you can tell. Just get out and explore the wonders this city has to offer, food, fashion, amazing churches, history and of course just emerge yourself in the style and elegance around you. This hotel is the perfect base, a pleasure to return to at night. They have a great bar in the foyer where you can grab a cocktail before dinner with snacks or a coffee before retiring at night. S.Wilkins

Hilton Barbados - Very clean hotel with friendly staff between the busy South and upscale West. The semi-private beach is great, and there are lots of pools for swimming. Hilton Gold or better have access to the exec lounge for continental breakfast and free WiFi. The on-site restaurants were average, but there’s a restaurant called Brown Sugar nearby that is great. The only downside to this hotel is its location. There’s really not much nearby in terms of shopping or restaurants. Its a £5 cab ride North to Bridgetown or East to the tourist area. Of course its location can also be a benefit if you don’t want to be bothered by crowds or street-sellers. Food and drink is a bit expensive with a 17% VAT and 10% service fee include plus whatever you tip. S.Peters

The Bryant Park Hotel, New York - We had a wonderful trip to New York, and our stay at the Bryant Park Hotel was indeed a highlight. The staff was attentive and friendly and we received a room upgrade that was an unexpected treat. The room was bright and large, very clean and fully stocked with anything you could need during your stay. The Cellar Bar offers a free cocktail hour daily, which was a nice touch before an evening of theater. The hotel is lovely and in the perfect location. It made our one night stay seem much longer. We were so close to everything that we were able to see many of our favorite spots easily. And the location, adjacent to Bryant Park, was one of the best features. We grabbed lunch at a corner deli and enjoyed a beautiful spring day in the park. We will certainly book our future stays at this hotel. We do not like the congestion in midtown, but The Bryant Park hotel manages to be steps away from everything and still seems like a quiet retreat. We would, without hesitation, recommend the hotel to friends and family! P.Alexander

Hotel 1898, Barcelona - I stayed at this hotel as a part of a guys’ trip to Barcelona. Check-in went smoothly and service at front desk was fine throughout the stay. Location is right on the Rambla for what it is. If you don’t like the area, then don’t stay here. I find it a great place to stay in Barcelona as you are close to virtually everything. What I liked most about the hotel was the heated pool on the rooftop terrace. Even though it was February (and the air a bit chilly), we had great fun sitting in the pool drinking cava for hours. Highly recommendable. :) For some reason the pool in the basement was terribly cold. Don’t know if it had to do with the fact that they just finished maintenance the day before. Otherwise, they really should turn up the temperature. It is too small to swim in anyway.Overall, especially considering the price, I would recommend this hotel to anybody, and I certainly will use it again for my next stay in Barcelona. Johno

Riu Palace Algarve - Very nice resort hotel. Champagne welcome anyone? The hotel is very large and clean. Very little character or charm but staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was very nice and had a lot of variation, even if quite formal. There were so many older couples there I felt like I dropped into a pensioners/retirement convention. It was literally all older people and when I say older I mean my grandparents age. I was a solo traveler and although my stay was nice, I wouldn’t recommend it to other solo travellers. A.Matthews

Four Seasons Resort, Sharm El Sheikh - If you are looking for a sunny spot during the European winter not too far away this is it. You have the usual Four Seasons quality in the middle of Egypt. The service was excellent and the food was also very good. The staff always did the extra mile to try to satisfy your requests. The Spa and remaining premises were very good There were two negative facts. The impossibility to swim in the sea in front of the hotel forbidden by the local authorities. The kids club and the sports area were located far away from the beach and main swimming pool and too close to the airport. Meaning that sometimes they had the noise of the airplanes and the pollution associated. J. Boothroyd

Palm Gallery Hotel, Rome - I would endorse all the positive comments already submitted about Palm Gallery. We were extremely well looked after from the moment we were met at the airport until we were dropped back there at the end of our trip. The beds were firm but comfortable with lovely linen. The bathrooms were excellent, clean, with good hot showers and luxury toiletries. We had one large double room and one twin room which was small but adequate for our teenage daughters’ needs. Breakfast was good, fresh bread, pastries, cheese, ham, fresh fruit juice, and fresh apples, oranges, bananas, and kiwi, excellent coffee. There is still work being undertaken on the hotel but we were not disturbed by it. The hotel is a little way out of the centre, about 20 minutes walk to the bus terminal, but the neighbourhood is friendly and quiet with plenty of good restuarants and bars. The cafe and roof top terrace are not yet open and the hotel is small but if you like to stay somewhere owned and staffed by people who really care about their guests then this is the place to stay. S.Cudby

Sawasdee Village, Phuket – This place is simply stunning! The architecture and landscaping is just amazing. It is not often that the swimming pool meanders right into your villa! I highly recommend a visit here. Last point – the bed was so comfortable, we could hardly get out of it!T.Banks

Moses Fountain Hotel, Rome – We spent 4 nights at the Moses Fountain Guest House and were delighted. We stayed at the “Swanky Cardinal” – the red room. A spacious beautifully designed room with a unique bathroom and a tiny terrace overlooking the busy junction below. The room is nice and lit, comfortable with a super bed! S.Peterson

Highly reccommended.T.Forester

The Levin, London – My husband and I had a wonderful stay at The Levin. The room we stayed in was very nicely decorated, and very clean. But the best part of The Levin is definitely the staff. They were all extremly nice and always going out of their way to help us in anything we needed.Food in the breakfast area was good and the location, well, you can’t get better than near Harrods, although my hubby would disagree! R.Middleton

Hermitage Bay Hotel, Antigua – We spent 10 days at Hermitage mid July. Overall we were extremely happy and had a great time. Whether you love it or just like it will probably depend on your expectations. Staff were great, rooms were a bit dated but still comfortable and food was fine..Not the best we’ve been to, but by no means the worst! S. Cudby

Viceroy Hotel, Miami – I just returned from a 5-day stay at Viceroy Miami, and was extremely pleased with my experience there. The hotel is located in the Brickell neighborhood of Miami, adjacent to downtown. South Beach is about a 15-minute drive away, but the hotel does front the water- the Miami River and Biscayne Bay. Rooms were spotless, food was excellent and staff very welcoming. Good job! R. O’Rourke

Hotel Los Monteros, Marbella – A very nice hotel with a massive pool and lovely grounds to sun bathe in. The Suite was fantastic and lunch was a limited choice but plentiful.Staff were pleasant. We would return. J.Simms

The Cape Cadogan, Cape Town – We arrived at the Cape Cadogan at the start of our honeymoon. We received a warm welcome and were thrilled to learn that we had received a free upgrade to the owner’s villa which is attached to the hotel but has it’s own entrance. The villa was amazing, food top class and the owners really couldnt do enough for us. We absolutely recommend this hotel 100%. T.Peters

Villa Spalletti Trivelli, Rome – Our last stop on our two-week Italian trip was the Villa Spalletti Trivelli. What a gem. This lovely Villa has 12 or 14 suites. Ours had a very large bedroom, separate bathroom and a separate office. Our room also looked out over the Villa’s private garden. The staff were super friendly and couldnt do enough. A real treat of a hotel! M.Rowe

Timothy Beach Resort, St Kitts – We felt like we were right in the midst of things! Lots going on, the bars on the Strip were quite lively. Sunday night at the Dock was a brilliant night, we had the beach bbq and then partied with the locals and the reggae band. Really good fun. We stayed in a one bedroom suite. It was massive, lots of space, full kitchen, dining and living area. The room was perfectly adequate, but even though I think the bathroom had recently been renovated, everything still looked very tired. The pool area again could have done with a bit of TLC, it just needs a bit of money spending on it. We did like the hotel, but didn’t love it. S.Gilbertson

Hotel Mariposas, Sardinia – This is a family run hotel in an ideal location being only a five minute walk from the beach and a ten minute walk into Villasimius. The attention to detail given by all members of the family to ensure that you have a wonderful holiday is exceptional. The rooms are cleaned every day and the breakfast is served every morning between 07:30 and 10:00 so you can take your time getting up. It is set in a well kept garden with a pool and we were surprised that this hotel has not been rated 4 star given the service we received and facilities provided. R.Shinn

Ladera Resort, St Lucia – My fiance and I stayed at Ladera for five nights at the end of May. It was heaven. There is no doubt the view is simply outstanding from wherever you go in the resort and whichever class of accommodation you stay in but it’s not the only thing that makes Ladera truly special. With so much to do and the staff making you feel so welcome, I highly recommend this resort. P.Wilkes

Hotel Royal, Benidorm – We stayed for 6 nights at the Hotel Royal – Staff friendly & helpful, Pool good, Bar Good, Room good apart from the air conditioning which was poor. We slept badly because of poor a/c and noisy neighbours. We were full board – there was not much choice and little variation between lunch & dinner. We probably would not stay again.

Hotel Keppler, Paris - This hotel is an excellent choice for those wanting a central Paris location with a quiet address. This hotel is a small boutique hotel with a modern French feel. We had a suite and a double room linked by a private foyer. Both were tastefully furnished and decorated in a classic style. Fabulously located and lovely rooms. Will return! B.Stokes

Magic Castle Hotel, Los Angeles – I can’t speak highly enough of this place. The location was perfect, just a five minute walk from Hollywood/Highland and in a pleasant part of town. It was an ideal place to stay with young children as the suite is spacious, clean and comfortable and the pool is wonderfully accessible. What really made it though, was the wonderful customer service. The staff are so friendly and helpful, I’ve never experienced anything like it before – they really helped make our holiday wonderful. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back next time we visit LA. S.Biggs

Casa Montani, Rome – Very intimate, well run and well decorated hotel. Prices were fair, service was very personal and helpful. It feels like you’re staying in someone’s lovely townhouse, though the building it’s located in is a bit bizarre. Location is excellent, right next door to the Piazza del Popolo. On my next visit to Rome, I will stay in this hotel for sure. H.Banks

The Puli Hotel and Spa, Shanghai – This hotel is very impressive – tasteful modern design with a Chinese touch, comfortable rooms and great lobby bar. The indoor pool is very nice. The location is also excellent. Walking distance to the French concession area, one block from public transport and a temple that’s a major attraction, a couple of blocks to fancy malls, and importantly, one block from where the airport bus drops you off. All in all, a great hotel. J.Cole

Park Hyatt Hotel, Sydney – My husband and I had a romantic weekend at the Park Hyatt after snapping up a advertised deal. We had a beautiful opera view room. It was big and spacious, with a bigger than average king size bed and a beautiful marble bathroom. The view of the harbour and the opera house was gorgeous! Breakfast was included in our deal and was probably the only disappointment. This aside, fab hotel and would definitely return. P.Richardson

Pan Pacific Hotel, Singapore - We stayed here last year and loved it, so decided to return for our 2 night stopover. The hotel was excellent at providing us with a room at a very early check in time of about 7am. We really appreciated this and it made our stay all the more enjoyable! Montra Hotel, Koh Samui - We thought the Montra would be nice but it was even better than that! For a start everyone was super friendly, the room, pool etc was beautiful. Another delight was the food at Hue their restaurant with no customers! As they have only 9 villas and Koh Samui is a foodies paradise not many people eat at “Hue.” We went to “Koh Samuis best Thai food” restaurant and it wasn’t even a close second to Hue. Can’t recommend this hotel enough. C.Walters

Curtain Bluff Resort, Antigua - My husband, young daughter and myself just returned from our third visit to Curtain Bluff, we had a fantastic holiday. From our Junior Suite located directly on the surf beach, to the friendly staff and freshly prepared meals to the full range of water sports all included in one price. Hotel Canal Grande, Venice - This was our second stay in Hotel Canal Grande. We stayed three nights a year ago, and five nights this time. Everything was just as perfect now as it was the last time. Hotel Gramont Opera, Paris – My husband and i stayed in this hotel after researching on the internet for some time! The selection of hotels in Paris is huge but we were more than impressed with our choice. From the moment we arrived until checking out, the hotel staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Our room was spotless, well decorated and really comfortable. The position of the hotel was perfect for all the major attractions, all within walking distance! T.Foley

The Granville Hotel, Brighton – I have just returned from a nights stay at the Granville. The hotel is located directly opposite the West pier. We stayed in the Japanese room which was ‘very’ small though I feel the other standard sea view rooms will be of similar size. It had a great sea view and a lovely bathroom. The jacuzzi bath was a nice touch. The bed was a small double but very comfortable. We had a flatscreen tv with very poor picture quality and only 10 channels to choose from. All the other standard amenities were included Tea & coffee making facilities, iron, basic toiletries etc. There was a small selection of old movie DVD’s to borrow free from reception. Breakfast was nice. R.Cole

Vencia Hotel, Mykonos – The view of this hotel is breathtaking! It oversees the Mykonos Town perfectly. In order to enjoy this nice seaview, we had made a reservation with Standard Sea View room for 2 nights. It turned out to be a bit disappointing because there was another Sea View room in front of us, which blocked 2/3 of the scenery. The location was nice. 15-min walk to the bus terminal to all the popular beaches. It was not really far from the Mykonos town, too.  T.Parks

The Rutland Hotel, Edinburgh – Stayed at Rutland Hotel for two nights. It is clean, modern, nice rooms and bathrooms, friendly and very helpful staff, conveniently located near Edinburgh Castle. The only drawback is that our room got a little stuffy because the AC is not strong enough to cope with warm weather and the windows do not open. I think we were in Room 3 but I’m not sure. It was west facing and got afternoon sun. N.Linwood

The Upper House, Hong Kong – Wow is an understatement for the experience of this hotel. It was amazing. Great big rooms. Beautifully designed. With everything you need to make you feel home and with quality. The staff were amazing. The rooftop restaurant was divine (although their martini needs a big improvement, cute concept, looks good, but taste below average) … But the food … Delicious. My new place to stay when i am back in Hong Kong. Hotel Los Monteros, Marbella – I had not been at Los Monteros for over 2 years partly because of health and the problems they appeared to be having with a previous owner. This was disappointing as we had been going to the hotel for several years and often more than once in a year. Having read that it was reopened and reviews were favourable, my wife and I booked for 5 nights taking me up to my birthday. It was as always excellent and is in immaculate condition. I also enjoyed seeing many of the old staff there and as friendly and efficient as ever. M.Wright

Palm Gallery Hotel, Rome - Our experience with Palm Gallery Hotel began when I spoke to Luisa Fusco, the owner, to make our reservation. She was very friendly and helpful – and that spirit permeates this small hotel. It’s located on a quiet street and is very peaceful. Luisa and her staff made us feel at home from the beginning. The room was very nice and we enjoyed waking up in the morning to the sound of the birds. Good value, good room and very, very gracious.T.Franks

Rendezvous Resort, St Lucia – Could not fault it – we loved the hotel, food, activities, staff and the fact that it was adults only – we met lots of people. Don’t worry about it being near a landing strip – the planes are small and are created some atmosphere. L.Lane

Date of review: 17/07/2012

Nimb Hotel, Copenhagen – We stayed at the Nimb for the weekend in April. It was our first time in Copenhagen. The hotel looks unassuming from the road but once inside it is beautiful, comfortable and stylish. The staff were excellent and couldn’t have been more helpful (although the room maids could have replenished our Molton Brown toiletries!).The location is great, opposite the train station so very easy to and from the airport. Our room was large and confortable, overlooking Tivoli Gardens which was closed as it was prepared for the Easter holidays. The B and O equipment in the room was amazing – especially the Beosound! The bathroom is luxurious and has fabulous under floor heating. We were only sorry that it wasn’t cold enough to light the real fire in the room. R. Ricketts

Riu Palace, Playacar, Cancun -  We have just returned from a fabulous 14 nights in this stunning hotel. Staff were great, rooms nice and clean and for an all inclusive, the food was remarkably varied and good!. We took our 2 little girls, aged 4 and 7 who both loved the entertainment. Nothing was too much trouble. I can’t rate this hotel highly enough and will certainly be returning. S. Folkes

The Savoy Hotel, Moscow – I had a fantastic stay in this hotel in May 2011. It was a sanctuary in a crowded and bustling city, full of atmosphere and excellent facilities. I really enjoyed my stay, and I can be quite fussy.Moscow is a difficult place to find a decent hotel at a sensible price. Be warned: any trip to Moscow is going to make a serious dent in your finances, and not just for a hotel. I figured it wouldn’t cost that much more for the Oligarch Treatment, and I was right: I got a decent deal for 6 nights. Definitely stay here on your next visit to Moscow. P.Powers

Iberostar Grand Rose Hall, Jamaica – We arrived at the resort which is extremely clean and well maintained and we’re greeted with mermosa’s. The bell-hop was very friendly and unloaded our luggage. We immediately we’re escorted to our room. Our room was immaculate, down to every detail. Mini fridge was stocked, bathroom was very big and clean. We we’re upgraded to oceanfront. Room service was on time every morning and food was better then any of the other all inclusive’s we have been to. It’s adults only (we only go to adults only), so it was nice that no kids were around. We never had a major problem finding a sun bed to lay out on. The beach was very clean and nice. There are lots of activities to do throughout the day. Fab holiday and we will return to this hotel. T. Moore

The Peninsula Chicago - We have stayed at the Penninsula in Hong Kong which in my book is what all Hotels in this 5 star category should be measured against in all aspects so we were excited to give this Hotel a shot in Chicago. We came away overall with a great stay and were not disappointed. There were however some shortcomings that we felt did not put them at the 5 star level (more like 4.5) since 5 star really means near or at perfection. P. Johnston

Date of review: 09/07/2012

Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel, Tenerife – Me and my family stayed here for a week all inclusive and we really enjoyed it. The food was excellent. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly. The younger kids loved the kids club but it was harder to keep my eldest who is eleven entertained. I found that a lot of the activities were only for adults which me and my husband enjoyed. There were 2 big pools, one heated salt water and the other fresh water which was only for adults. P.Watkins

The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin – I stayed here for the second time in 2 months and was not let down this time either. Everything was perfect as you should expect from a classic 5-star hotel. This time I had time to enjoy both a visit to the bar after work and the breakfast the morning after. You could not ask for a better experience on both occasions. The lobby bar was really relaxed with comfy chairs and great service. The breakfast was really complete: freshly squeezed orange juice and all sorts of cold and hot breakfast that you should expect from having breakfast in a great hotel. S.Nunn

Ruzzini Palace Hotel, Venice - We stayed for 5 days Monday to Friday, the room was the standard in the “attic” and was absolutely fabulous, service excellent, staff wonderful, breakfast till you burst and keeps you going to avoid the cities rip off prices, drinks in the hotel when you return in the evening are the best value in Venice. N.Masterson

Date of review: 05/07/2012

Mamaison Residence Izabella, Budapest – This was a very nice hotel with extremely helpful staff. For travellers who prefer to have an apartment with kitchen and living room and multiple bathrooms, it was a terrific space. It was a good 15 minute walk to the city centre, or an easy metro trip. We wish we had known to ask for a “peaceful garden room” because our room was on the front of the building and the street traffic was surprisingly loud all night. If we had been able to turn on the A/C, we might have been able to drown out the street noise, but it was not working, and it was truly impossible to sleep with the windows open. There was a clothes washing machine available, but no instructions about how to use it, which would have been helpful to have in the binder of information they supplied. L.Dookes

Gran Sol, Cala Bona, Majorca – This was a last minute break for me, my first as a solo traveller, and Thomson did themselves proud with this one. Hotel spotless, modern, comfortable and the staff are discretely attentive, perfect. Didn’t mind the ‘side view’ room at all and you still do have a view of the sea – wasn’t in the room much – too much else to see. Would definitely return to the Gran Sol but probably a little later in the season next time, one or two restaurants closed early but otherwise a great week. P. Murray

Crowne Plaza, Vilamoura – Just returned from our stay at the Crowne Plaza. It is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Amazing room. Friendly and helpful staff. Great pool area, especially the LazyBoys on the grass area. Lovely park area for our little girl. The location is not to far from the Marina, and there are a few bars just along the road. Would recommend eating at the restaurant A BROA excellent food. Could not fault one thing about our holiday. Will definitely return to Vilamoura and stay at this hotel again. T.Wilkins

Chelsea Pines Inn, New York – This is a great place. Above all for the friendly and infinitely helpful personnel. Nothing was too much trouble. They certainly know how to welcome their guests. There was information available about everything, and even the famous daily information sheet for inspiration. The room was so very comfortable and quiet, despite being on 14th street. The Inn is in a most convenient location to go out in all directions and at all times of day; the area is fascinating and full of life. We will definitely book here on our next visit to New York. Al Manzil Hotel, Dubai – This hotel is in a wonderful location – walking distance from the worlds largest shopping centre! Everyone in the hotel, from the front desk, concierge, and managers were wonderful. When we checked in we didn’t have the non smoking room and the staff bent over backwards to make amends. They immediately changed our room and provided us with a complimentary lunch and bottle of wine. Very, very nice staff at this hotel. Would highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again. Conrad Hotel, Chicago – This is a great hotel. The location is perfect right on Michigan Ave. Walk out the door and shopping and food are right there. It’s connected to the Nordstrom mall. Staff was friendly whenever I came in contact with them. For Chicago the room size is big than most. S.Langley

Hotel Orfila, Madrid – The Orfila is ideally located for access to central Madrid yet it is on a very quiet street. It was selected because it advertised traditional quality and service. We were not disappointed. Friendly charm met us upon arrival and was present throughout our four day stay. Every request was promptly obliged and we felt we were welcome guests rather than just passing through. The Orfila will suit those looking for traditional comfort and service and may not suit those looking for modern chic and gadgetry. The best compliment is confirmation that we would undoubtedly return to the Orfila when the opportunity arises. P.Vant

Hotel Le Six, Paris – My husband and myself experienced our first trip to europe this april- and Hotel Le Six was a perfect choice for this! Being a skeptical Londoner I was curious as to how it would go….it was fabulous!!!!! the staff was cordial, young, informed and enthusiastic. They have a wonderful command of english and a willingness to help you at every request. We were upgraded to a more luxurious room that was beautiful! R.Swain

Ladera Resort, St Lucia – Our experience at Ladera Resort was one of a kind. We had an amazing visit and are sure to return again. When we arrived after a long day of travel, we were greeted by a wonderful staff with a cold towel and cool beverage. We were then taken to our room which was absolutely breath-taking! Overlooking the Pitons from our private plunge pool was a view to behold. We have not felt so relaxed in as long as we can remember. Every detail has been thought of at Ladera, the exquisite wood and stone work at the resort as well as any accommodation one could ever need. T. Lawlor

Iberotel Palace, Sharm El Sheikh – My Boyfriend and I traveled to the Iberotel Palace in April and were thrilled with the experience we had at this hotel.Upon arrival we had a lovely welcome by the reception staff, with hot towels and orange juice to replenish ourselves after a long journey. Check-in was no hassle and our bags were taken to our room straight away. Our room was located on the upper level overlooking the gardens with a partial sea view. It was very clean and modern and we were very impressed with the quality of it on the whole. We slept sound every night and had all amenities we could ask for in our room. We were all inclusive and had the privilege of the unlimited mini bar which was an added bonus, especially in the hot weather! The atmosphere at the Iberotel Palace was excellent, everyone was so warm and welcoming and simply couldn’t do enough for you. Both Ossama and Beshoy were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our stay, and made our experiences at the bars most enjoyable. P.Jackson

Palm Gallery Hotel, Rome – The hotel was absolutely wonderful. The room and the bathroom were large and the bed very comfortable. Luisa, the owner, is always ready to help with any questions or concerns and recommended several absolutely terrific restaurants. Hotel is a bit on the outside of the touristy city centre, but there are may buses that will take you anywhere you need to go. The attention to detail of the hotel staff was fantastic. We will definitely be coming back the next time we return to Rome. S.Wilkes

Trump Soho, New York – After a long flight, we were greeted by friendly staff in the very sophisticated lobby. Without any prompting, we were given a free upgrade so that we had a better view from the 30th floor. One of the most rememberable moments of this first trip to new York was walking into our room – we were blown away. Kitchette, large comfy bed (like sleeping on a fluffy cloud!) gorgeous sofa, huge bathroom & tub next to the window.Great quality gowns & slippers too! After a long day exploring, each night we’d return to find that bottled water & chocolates had been left at our bedsides, and classical music on the stereo.Fab location, only a few mins to the subway. For pizza slices, you’ve gotta try Ben’s…. delicious seafood, aquagrill was a-mazing!. S.Peterson

Hotel Botanico, Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife – A good hotel is defined largely by its staff, and this bunch are tops. The building is palatial, with beautiful gardens, and the spa area is the best ever encountered. It is all superlatives, but there is always room for criticism. The Restaurants are a bit pretentious and over priced although the breakfast is excellent. A full sized snooker table would be more appropriate than their pool table. No tea making facilities in room. S.Morrisey

Barcelo, Malaga - I really liked the Barcelo Malaga. A very modern, stylish hotel, very clean, well decorated rooms, a huge king size bed, free WiFi, a multi functional shower which was truly amazing. The breakfast buffet had a great choice and Nespresso machines – what a treat! All this at a perfectly reasonable rate through Expedia.I would definitely stay there again. Only one minor criticism: EUR 17 for parking for one night is a bit steep. J.Cole

The Milestone Hotel, London – From the moment we arrived until the time we left, The Milestone Hotel provided us with a wonderful guest experience. We had a room upgrade to a lovely suite, service that was gracious but not overbearing, excellent breakfasts and delicious evening hors d’oevres brought to our room. The location was excellent and the common rooms were delightfully British. J.Everett

Old Mill Inn & Spa, Toronto - An oasis in the city. The area the Inn is located is so peaceful & quiet you would barely know the city was so close. We were celebrating a birthday & the management graciously upgraded our room to a suite. It was very much appreciated. The room was so charming & the bed was very comfortable. Our dinner was excellent & the entertainment was very enjoyable. The complimentary continental breakfast in the Terrace Restaurant was very tasty. All of the staff were very nice and accommodating. We can only imagine how beautiful this Inn would be when the trees & flowers are in full bloom. D.Bushell

Drakes Hotel, Brighton – Just stayed for one night and wished it was longer! Room not huge but lovely views and everything you could want is there. Staff are helpful, friendly and accomodating. We were lucky with the parking and got a spot just outside the next building. Restuarant is really lovely but the only slight negative is that there is not an extensive choice of starters and mains but food is tasty and well presented. Not a cheap getaway but well worth it and we will certainly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there if we visit Brighton again. J.Picknall

Tigerlily, Edinburgh – We stayed for 3 nights in Tigerlily (our second time) and once again we were blown away by how fabulous this hotel really is! It is very luxurious and comfortable – we stayed in one of the georgian mini suites which had a lovely feature fireplace (remote controlled!!) which we didn’t think we would use, but actually used it every day (it made the room extra cosy!). Other highlights are the huge bathroom, giant wall-mounted flat-screen TV and the daily ‘turn-down service’ complete with fur rugs! Tigerlily is one of the fashionable places we have stayed at yet we felt completely comfortable there. The restaurant also serves great food and the cocktail bar alone is worth a visit. B.Grayson

iQ Hotel Roma, Rome – A great hotel in a great location.Lots of historic sights and shops within walking distance.Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a problem with the very firm bed and asked for a mattress topper which we were duly supplied with, although I suspect it was really a duvet!Never the less it certainly helped.Loved the vending machines selling all sorts from sandwiches(2.50 eu) to bottles of wine(6eu).Also very much liked the roof top garden area to relax in after a long day walking everywhere.Take your own refreshments to drink and eat up there.Rooms were on the small side but we did have a little balcony, which was a plus.Lovely modern bathroom and powerful shower.Breakfast was plentiful and self service. Lots of choice for all tastes.Metro station a couple of minutes walk away.A definite must to travel to the vatican on.Easy to use and cheap. T.Wright

Hotel Zenit, Valencia – The best thing about this hotel is the excellent location. An easy walk to the historic town, and a reasonable walk to the City of Arts and Sciences. 30 seconds to the Xativa metro station which has a line going to the port/beach and to the airport. Very close to the Bus route for the City of Arts and Sciences and various other bus routes. For a first visit to Valencia – this was really useful. The hotel was also 30 seconds to the train station – and whilst we didn’t go anywhere on the train, we often popped in there (esp late at night) to pick up big bottles of water from the vending machines (1.6 euros). Las Palmeras, Lanzarote – Good value for money apartments set back a little from the front but still only a short walk down hill to the beach. Had everything you could want pool which was cleaned every day. Full range of appliances in kitchen, hairdryer in bathroom. Towels changed every other day and room cleaned every other day. P.Jackson

L.Johnson

Le Meridien, Bangkok – Located smack in the middle of Patpong, I wasn’t expecting such a plush hotel as this. S.Peters

Invisa Hotel La Cala, Ibiza – Myself & my sister stayed at the Invisa La Cala for a weeks holiday. T.Jenkins

Hotel Fita, Amsterdam – Clean, friendly, near museums and designer shopping.

Crowne Plaza, Lille – The hotel is right next to the station and less than 30 minutes after we had got off the Eurostar we had checked in, unpacked, freshened up and were on our way to exploring Lille. S.Farfan

El Palace Hotel, Barcelona – El Palace is a genuine 5-star where everything is just right.

Rendezvous Resort, St.Lucia – We have stayed at this hotel many times and will be definately be visiting again. P.Mclean

Orosol Hotel, Ibiza – We stayed here for a weekend when we went to San Antonio. S.Daniels

Burgundy Hotel, Paris – This hotel is highly recommended. T.Stevens

Hotel Garbi Ibiza & Spa, Ibiza – Location, location, location about sums it up. D.Bale

Hotel San Roque, Tenerife – Really gorgeous hotel in lovely Garachico town. Very friendly reception when we arrived and bottle of wine delivered to our room…perfect! We were staying for 6 nights and had booked a duplex but then upgraded to the ‘suite’ in the Tower which was fabulous, including the private terrace and great views. We ate only 1 night at the hotel but it was very good, what we did love was drinks before dinner! the G&T’s were fantastic..Overall we loved the hotel the only downside for us was we went for some winter sun but the location of Garachico, at the bottom of the mountain meant we saw more clouds than sun and it was a little cool. The House, Barbados – The House was everything my husband and I could have asked for on our honeymoon.

N.Spinks

The Westin, Valencia – This is a great hotel for the value and service we got from everyone we interacted with. Hotel Estherea, Amsterdam – Having been on a bike and barge trip prior to our stay at the Hotel Estherea we were delighted with this beautiful little bouttique hotel located off the Singel Canal.

R.Parker

Vencia Hotel, Mykonos, Greece – We stayed in the Vencia hotel in a Jnr Suite – Seaview room for 4 nights in March 2011 and loved every single second of our stay. Sandyport Beach Resort, Bahamas – I had a wonderful time at this resort. I would most definitely stay here again, and would recommend this gorgeous resort to anyone who wishes a wonderful vacation in the Bahamas. P.Bradley

Hotel Lucrezia, Sardinia – We stayed here after some advice from friends and were definitely NOT disappointed. C.Peterson

Athena Royal Beach Hotel, Paphos, Cyprus – From start to finish the management and staff were exemplary. P.Dawson

Hotel Costas Golden Beach, Corfu – We had a great stay here. G.Bale

Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas – I visited Las Vegas with my sister-in-law for a girls get away.

S.Wright

Blue Waters,Antigua – We returned from Blue Waters two weeks ago and would highly recommend this resort. P.Walters

Hotel Salvia, Majorca – I stayed in Hotel Salvia for 5 nights in March and could not wish for a better place. Catalonia Las Cortes, Madrid – We had a wonderful stay at Catalonia Las Cortes this month. T. Glitsos

The Lake Resort, Vilamoura, Portugal – Just back from a 3 day stay at this 5 star and i can honestly say it was excellent. we were upgraded free of charge as the hotle was quiet. we were welcomed with a bottle of champagne and strawberries. staff were very professional and very friendly i had read that the breakfast was great that was an understatement stayed in 5 star before but this breakfast out does them all. we had lunch which i read was expensive to eat there. i ordered a chicken baguette it came with salad and fries and was a lovely which cost 10 euro this was not expensive for the quality of food. we used the spa which one treatment with 50 per cent discount, again staff were fantastic. i couldnt find anything wrong with this hotel if i was going again to portugal probally would go in oct as weather was poor however for 99 euro a night this hotel is outstanding. Gran Duca di York, Milan – Loved this hotel. Hilton Barbados – Very clean hotel with friendly staff between the busy South and upscale West. S.Peters

The Bryant Park Hotel, New York – We had a wonderful trip to New York, and our stay at the Bryant Park Hotel was indeed a highlight. P.Alexander

Hotel 1898, Barcelona – I stayed at this hotel as a part of a guys’ trip to Barcelona.

A.Matthews

Four Seasons Resort, Sharm El Sheikh – If you are looking for a sunny spot during the European winter not too far away this is it. J. Boothroyd

Palm Gallery Hotel, Rome – I would endorse all the positive comments already submitted about Palm Gallery.
