The Galleria dell’Accademia

The ‘Galleria dell’Accademia is among the world’s great museums, and can’t be missed on your trip to Venice. It also, not surprisingly, gets extremely busy, so book your tickets some way ahead and plan your times to miss the crowds. This building was partially built in the twelfth Century and completed in the 14th Century. In its twenty-four rooms, it displays works of Italian artists like Andrea Mantegna, Piero Della Francesca, Cosm Tura, and Giovanni Bellini. Other artists include Giorgione, Tintoretto, Paris Bordone, and Moretto Da Brescia and masses more.

The Palazzo Ducale in Venice One of Italy’s grandest and most history-saturated city halls is this huge Gothic-Renaissance confection. Its public halls are heavily embellished with canvases and frescoes by Venice’s greatest artists.Off the back of the building, you cross over the famous, enclosed Bridge of Sighs ( Ponte dei Sospiri ), named by romantic-era writers who imagined condemned captives letting out a lament as they crossed and got their last glance of Venice and her lagoon thru the miniscule windows in the middle. The cells on the opposite side preserve the scrawls and graffiti of traditional prisoners. Piazza San Marco Regularly known in English as St Mark’s Square, is the principal square of Venice, Italy.

It is among the few great urban spaces in Europe where human voices overcome over the sounds of motorized traffic, which is limited to Venice’s waterways.

As the central landmark and gathering place for Venice, it is very well-liked by holiday makers, photographers and Venetian pigeons. Gondola ride in Venice Taking an enchanting gondola ride in Venice gives you a totally different point of view of the town than exploring it on foot. The ideal time for a gondola ride is in the evening when the waterways are not choked with other boats. You can mostly book a ride thru your hotel.

Many gondoliers stand near bridges and also round the St.Mark square offering gondola rides. Grand Canal The famous waterway is roughly two-miles long and faced with galvanizing palaces, is a decorative and busy vision of gondolas and vaporetti. It forms one of the major water-traffic corridors in the town. Buying Venetian Glass It’s predicted the there may be more than one thousand glass shops in the San Marco district alone. For an easy shopping ramble, head out of Piazza San Marco at the clock tower onto Le Mercerie. This route, covered with fancy shops and keepsake shops.
